Building the future
In cooperation with the builders of offshore wind farms, we are involved in developing operating models in the renewable energy value chain. Finnish Sea Service has experience in offshore wind farms – as a partner, such as in the installation of subsea cables and offshore wind farms and foundations.
Offshore construction is one degree more challenging – power plants are installed on the seabed. Installation work must be planned and carried out taking into account the prevailing sea and wind conditions. The construction of offshore wind power requires special equipment, such as foundation dredging and foundation levelling, component logistics, erection of wind farms and subsea cabling.
The maintenance and service of an offshore wind farm requires planned maintenance and inspection activities as well as the rectification of unexpected faults. Maintenance visits are made using purpose-designed vessels – safely even in winter conditions.
